Life sometimes seems to get in the way of painting time. The last several months have been a series of derailments creatively speaking. Emotionally charged situations that not only take enormous amounts of my time but also discourage creative thought. Working through paper work and yet another move have left me without a lot to show on canvas. I started this throw back of a painting but have not had the emotional energy to finish it. I have to remind myself that life isn't something that gets in the way it is actually the fuel that drives art. Without meaningful and yes sometimes painful life events my life would be flat and without purpose. Births, deaths, moves, struggles and joyous moments give us inspiration to breath life into our work as artists. Days without painting time, while totally frustrating, are not wasted days. These days are helping build a deeper set of work that has passion built into it because I have lived through days of grief, frustration and yes love.
